Ji-yao JiangDr. Jiang, a nationally recognized expert in head trauma, is at the forefront of new treatment, for head trauma and stroke. Dr. Jiang’s research includes clinical trials of standard trauma craniectomy for severe head trauma patients with massive cerebral contusion and refractory intracranial hypertension, long-term mild hypothermia for severe head trauma patients with refractory intracranial hypertension, as well as new drugs for head trauma patients.

Dr. Jiang’s clinical expertise includes head trauma, stroke, intensive care and mild hypothermia. His surgical expertise includes head trauma, stroke and brain tumors. His research interests focus on the design, implementation, and conduct of clinical trials in severe TBI patients and stroke; monitoring CBF, PbrO2, ICP, neurotransmitters; and basic mechanisms and pharmocotherapy and mild hypothermia in experimental TBI; as well as selective cerebral profound hypothermia in experimental cerebral ischemia.

As president of Chinese neurotrauma society, Dr. Jiang has written 《Chinese guidelines for surgical management of head trauma》《Chinese guidelines for drug management of head trauma》《Chinese guidelines for ICP monitor of acute head trauma》, which have been approved  by Chinese experts and published on Chinese Journal of Neurosurgery.
