Michael J. Bell, MD is a Professor of Critical Care Medicine, Neurological Surgery and Pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in the US. He is the Director of the Pediatric Neurotrauma Center, Director of Pediatric Neurocritical Care and Associate Director of the Safar Center for Resuscitation Research. He has served on the Brain Trauma Foundation committees to develop guidelines for the acute care of children with severe traumatic brain injury as well as the guidelines for the care of adults with severe traumatic brain injury. Currently, he is the Principal Investigator of the ADAPT Trial (Approaches and Decisions for Acute Pediatric TBI), with the goal of determining medical strategies associated with the best outcomes in 1000 children across 8 countries.
