Dr András Büki

Andras Buki is professor and chair of the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Pecs, Hungary. He is an individual member of the EANS since 2004 and has participated in the work of the EANS Training Committee between 2007 and 2011.

 

He was trained in Pecs, Hungary, and also participated in neurotrauma research at the Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, VA between 1997 and 1999. These studies resulted in his winning of the 2000 Aesculap Prize of the EANS.

 

His research activity focuses on the pathogenesis and experimental care of diffuse traumatic brain injury. He defended his Ph.D thesis in 1999 and published more than 50 peer reviewed manuscripts; his H-index is 20. Dr. Buki gained his national board exam from neurosurgery in 1996 and clinical oncology in 2011 and is primarily involved in neurooncology and neurotrauma care. Dr. Buki is the vice president of the International Neurotrauma Society and secretary of the Hungarian Neurosurgical Society as well as member of the Hungarian College of Neurosurgeons.
